Take one young woman, mix in a wild imagination, a dash of humor and stir with a bit of God-given common sense and Voila; Eventurous was born!

With complete sincerity, reality was not that far from the recipe just shared. Cecilia Rose started Eventurous in 1991 when a casual acquaintance said two simple words to her, “Why not?” Those words rocked her world and changed everything from that moment on.

Our first event was the wedding of Ann & Ed Dykes. She was the mom of a close friend and Cecilia was invited to “practice” with them and see if this was truly something that she wanted to do. Apparently things went well.

Bit by bit, we built a business that is successful in so many ways. We love our clients and the work that we do for them. We have great business partners who make our events shine brighter than a million stars. We have an amazing team of creative people who give their heart and soul to each event.

Our story is far from over and each day is a new adventure. We invite you to join our journey and have fun along the way!

Cecilia is a woman who believes in fun! Her journey toward event planning started when she was just 13 years old and read a trashy romance novel checked out from her parochial high school library (scandal!). When the main character wasn’t falling in love with her handsome industrialist neighbor, she worked as an event planner. While Cecilia loved the idea of love, she enjoyed the thought of event planning even more! This simple 150 page book turned her world upside down and absolutely nothing has been the same since!

As event planning wasn’t really a profession yet (this was 1980 people!), she set her post secondary sights on radio/television broadcasting. Her years as a radio DJ helped to come out of her shell and really learn to interact with the public.  Life presented an opportunity (that’s the nice way to say “she was downsized!”) to start Eventurous when she was just 25 years old. She jumped at the chance, but truly had no idea where the journey would lead.  The early years were lean as the thought of event planning was still new for many folks. To pay the bills and because she can’t sit still, she entered the glamorous world of retail where she assisted in starting and consequently leading a direct sales team for Macy’s nationwide. Cecilia loves to say that this was the longest part-time, seasonal job she ever had!

In 2001, she jumped ship and took a swan dive into Eventurous full time. Since then no two days have ever been alike. Each morning is greeted with laughter and Cecilia’s own special blend of wit & wisdom. Should you ever happen to hear her singing the theme song from the monster 1970’s television show “The Love Boat”, don’t worry it’s just her personal “on hold” music that constantly runs through her head. Chances are good that she’s deep in thought creating something jaw-dropping for one of her clients!
